This Privacy Policy explains how SongMyTube ("we", "our", "the site") handles information when you use our website. By using SongMyTube, you agree to the practices described below.
SongMyTube is a static front-end application with no server-side database (logging in with Google is optional and stores your data in Google Firebase under your account). We do not collect names, emails, or passwords from visitors. The site stores your preferences — such as saved playlists, favourite songs, equalizer settings and UI preferences — only in your own browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
We do not set our own tracking cookies. However, third-party services embedded on this site — including Google AdSense and YouTube’s embedded video player — may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and enable playback.
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Songs and videos on SongMyTube are streamed through YouTube’s official embedded player. When you play a video, YouTube may collect data about that interaction in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for YouTube’s data practices.
SongMyTube is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Because we don’t operate a backend database, most of your activity data never leaves your device. Any information you voluntarily send us (for example, via email) is stored securely and used only to respond to you.
You can optionally log in with your Google account using Firebase Authentication. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google to show who is logged in. If you log in, your playlists, liked songs, listening history and settings are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) under your account so they can follow you across devices. While you are logged in, the site also stores the names of your logged-in devices and what you are currently playing in Firebase Realtime Database, so you can control playback between your own devices. This data is used only to provide the site and is never sold or shared. You can log out at any time, and you can ask us to delete your stored data by emailing us.
Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
